HI GUYS! i’m gonna try this again, this time with a little more detail!
my mother is a trained psychologist who used to work as a support worker for a large charity and support organisation you may have heard of, but was (imo unfairly) dismissed. excuses were made, but what it boiled down to from the outside was that one of her bosses didn’t like her or the way she worked so they filed baseless complaints against her that ended in an investigation and her termination. she has no job. before going to work for that organisation, she worked at a mental asylum, where the treatment of the patients was downright disgusting. when she tried to speak up about it, she was bullied and driven into an emotional breakdown and ended up quitting. between these two things, her confidence has been shattered.
she’s also a quadriplegic, which means even if she had the energy or confidence to try to look for work again, the avenues available to her would be sincerely limited by her disability. i live with her as her primary carer, but suffer from multiple mental illnesses myself, as well as an actual physical disease in my brain. i’m fine as long as i get medication.
except we don’t have any money because there aren’t a lot of jobs available around here thanks my state premier. it’s very likely that we’ll have to sell the house and find somewhere else to live. this is a problem because we have two small dogs that are physically and emotionally high-maintenance, and are also very attached to each other.
my mother and i have gone through a lot of emotional stress and anxiety these past few months because of her work and my lack of work, and what i need right now, at least until i find a job, is a way to bring a bit more money to the house (as long as we have it). that’s why i’m doing commissions.
